IN-OFFICE AND VIRTUAL/TELEHEALTH APPOINTMENTS

ADAM MACKENZIE, PHD

Dr. Adam MacKenzie is a licensed psychologist, dedicated to providing evidence-based psychotherapy and counseling to adults of all ages. He works with individuals to help manage a broad range of issues such as internalizing issues (depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress, etc.), externalizing issues (substance abuse, anger, personality disorder, executive dysfunction, etc.), and thought disorder (delusions, paranoia, mania, etc.). He is especially interested in personality and individual differences as it applies to conceptualizing psychopathology and establishing intervention strategies.

Dr. MacKenzie has a master’s degree as well as a doctoral degree in counseling psychology. He completed his doctoral internship at the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center in Mississippi and he completed a post-doctoral residency at Trinity Health in North Dakota.

Born and raised in the frigid wastelands of western North Dakota, he found his way to clinical psychology after several learning experiences of what doesn’t work as it relates to a fulfilling career. Originally working in art/graphic design, he eventually found a more fitting way to exercise his creative spirit directed toward exploring the psyche and implementing innovative strategies to help his clients set goals, solve problems, and courageously engage with the difficulties of life through value-driven choices.
